About Us
Meetings

All adult Catholics are invited to visit our meetings to learn more about joining our organization. The Serra Club meets twice monthly with a breakfast business meeting on the first Tuesday of each month and a lunch meeting, featuring a Catholic speaker, on the third Tuesday of the month. The business meetings begin at 7:30 AM, include breakfast, and adjourn at 8:30 AM. Beginning in 2022, the meetings are held at PeeWee’s Place, at 2325 Anderson Road, Crescent Springs, KY. Lunch meetings are held at Thomas More University in the Chancellor’s Room adjoining the cafeteria during the school year. Visit our calendar (live link) for lunch meeting venues during summer months. Lunch meetings commence at 11:45 AM and adjourn at 1:00 PM.
Club members are eligible to participate in on-line regional, national and international meetings held throughout the year and periodic live regional meetings.
Activities

Our activities focus around fostering and promoting vocations and assisting members to recognize and respond to God’s call to holiness in Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit.
Servers’ Awards – Each Spring the Serra Club invites all dedicated 7th grade altar servers to a Solemn Vespers and special recognition ceremony where they are recognized for their service. Each server is awarded a crucifix and blue sash to be worn at the altar while serving.
Seminarian Support

Each summer Club members host a picnic for seminarians. Serrans correspond with seminarians in the Serra One-to-One program and a birthday card signed by Serrans is sent to each seminarian. The Club makes a donation to the Diocesan Seminarian Education Fund annually. Summer lunch meetings frequently feature a seminarian speaker while the seminarians are in the Diocese for summer service to parishes.
Priest Appreciation

The Club hosts an annual dinner party with door prizes for all the active and retired priests in the Covington Diocese in the Fall. A donation is made to the Priest Retirement Fund at the dinner. Children from a Catholic school in the diocese prepare and decorate unique birthday cards which are signed by Serrans and delivered to each active and retired priest.

Women Religious Appreciation

The Club hosts an annual picnic for all women religious in our Diocese and provides a special recognition for each of the major orders of women religious on their Feast Day celebrations. Annual donations are made to each order in support of their vocation outreach programs. Serrans also correspond with women in formation through the One-to-One program.
College Student Vocations

The Newman Center at Northern Kentucky University is a diocesan-supported Catholic student community whose Campus Minister is Serran Donna Heim. Serra Club provides periodic support to the organization to aid students in attending the annual SEEK conference fostering discovery for students on how to answer Jesus’ call to relationship and discipleship
Fundraisers

The Club raises money at an annual golf outing held in late September and at an annual Florence Y’alls baseball game, in June. Attendance at each event is free to all consecrated religious of the Diocese.
